This is day one of a two-day course. 

FEMA's MGT-439, Pediatric Disaster Response and Emergency Preparedness, is a two day class that focuses on preparedness and response to meet the needs of infants and children during a disaster event. 

This course will provide information on pediatric needs during an emergency to include:

- emergency management considerations
- planning and response considerations
- functional access needs considerations
- mass sheltering considerations
- pediatric triage considerations
- pediatric reunification considerations
- pediatric decontamination considerations

This course is designed for:

- community and hospital-based emergency managers
- EMS/Fire personnel
- hospital administration and ED personnel
- public safety/public health personnel
- school administrators
- private sector
- law enforcement
- disaster response personnel
- government officials 

Pre-registration is required for this course, and at least 30 participants must register in order for the course to be held.
