CSEPP Decon Practice

Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) decontamination practice.  This practice session will involve personnel from fire, EMS, rescue and law enforcement. 

Squad personnel participating in this practice session (or in a CSEPP graded exercise or actual event) are responsible for assisting Madison County EMS with equipment setup, moving patients, and assistance with patient assessment, care or monitoring as requested.  Squad personnel may also assist with overall decon site setup (e.g., setting up inflatable tents, barriers, signs, etc.) if not otherwise occupied assisting EMS. 

All Squad members who can do so are strongly encouraged to participate in this practice session. 

Required equipment:  Squad traffic safety vest 

Helpful equipment (not required): 800 MHz portable radio, flashlight 

A uniform is not necessary for this practice session but those who can are encouraged to wear Class C uniform (Squad T-shirt, blue pants). 

Notes:

All personnel participating in this practice session should arrive by the start time and park in the designated responder parking area.  Individuals arriving late and parking in the patient parking area may be treated as exposed patients and deconned. 

The best entry point to the decon site is from Magnolia Drive.  Directions:

From downtown / Lancaster Avenue:

  • Lancaster Avenue to Barnes Mill Road (across from EKU pedestrian entrance)
  • Barnes Mill Road west to Meadowlark Drive
  • Left onto Meadowlark Drive
  • Meadowlark Drive south to Magnolia Drive
  • Right onto Magnolia Drive
  • Left into the First Baptist Church parking lot

From the Bypass: 

  • EKU Bypass to Saint George Street
  • Saint George Street north to Barnes Mill Road
  • Right onto Barnes Mill Road
  • Barnes Mill Road east to Magnolia Drive 
  • Right onto Magnolia Drive
  • Right into the First Baptist Church parking lot
