CSEPP Annual Graded Exercise
Wednesday, September 18, 2019, 08:00am - 03:30pm
Contact Sgt. Robert McCool, MCRS

This is the annual Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) exercise for Madison County.  It is primarily a simulated exercise of the emergency operations center (EOC) and inter-agency communications.

In most cases, only agency EOC representatives actually respond for this event; field personnel are not actually deployed.  The EOC staff, including agency representatives, are presented with information about a simulated CSEPP chemical release incident.  They then determine what resources are available and deploy those resources to respond to the incident.

MCRS uses a "real world" system for determining available resources.  Squad personnel are notified via Active 911, e-mail, text message, and/or radio announcement.  Only those personnel who respond and indicate that they would be available if an actual incident were occurring are shown as available resources for exercise purposes.

Squad members who receive an exercise alert message are urged to immediately reply IF they would be available if an actual CSEPP incident were occurring.  Members who would not be available do not need to reply to the alert.

Squad personnel who are trained as EOC representatives should be prepared to respond to the EOC during this exercise.
