EKU / Madison County Airport Crash Exercise
Wednesday, October 24, 2018, 04:00pm - 06:30pm
Contact Sgt. Robert McCool (725), MCRS

This exercise will simulate a response to an aircraft crash at the Central Kentucky Regional Airport (formerly, the Madison County Airport).  This will be a full scale exercise, i.e. personnel and vehicles will actually respond to the scene and perform simulated emergency response activities.

This is a "cold start" exercise.  Responders and vehicles should stage in the area of the airport but not respond to the airport until notified to do so by Madison County 911 dispatch.

Parking will be limited so Squad personnel should ride in the rescue trucks or carpool as much as possible.

Required equipment:
- Extrication turnout gear or jumpsuit
- Helmet
- Rescue gloves
- Boots
- Traffic safety vest

Recommended equipment: 800 Mhz portable radio

Probationary members who wish to participate, but who have not yet been issued equipment, should contact Lt. Briley (711) or Sr. Sgt. Martin (710) to request temporary issue of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).  Members are responsible for providing their own appropriate boots and gloves.

No specific uniform is required, but a Class C shirt (Squad T-shirt) or plain, navy blue T-shirt and blue pants are recommended if possible.

Location Central Kentucky Regional Airport, 124 Madison Airport Road, Richmond
