Vehicle Extrication Ops (Practical)

This is the practical skills portion of the Vehicle Extrication Operations course.  Participants must complete both the classroom and practical skills sessions in order to successfully complete the course.

This session will include familiarization with common extrication tools and practice in the use of hand tools, electrically powered tools, hydraulic tools, air lifting bags and stabilization jacks during vehicle stabilization, window and door removal, third door conversion, dash lifts, roof removal and vehicle lifting.  If time permits, additional exercises such as trunk tunneling may be conducted.


Location MCRS Station (161 South Estill Avenue, Richmond) and ProTow (421 North Estill Avenue, Richmond)
Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be needed for this portion of the course. New members who do not have PPE available should contact an equipment officer prior to this course.
